Samsung has taken a fairly similar approach to design for longer than we can remember. But that could be coming to an end now – with the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ featuring a more attractive design, flagship specifications for 2021, and most importantly, a sense of fashion we’ve never seen before.
Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+
The Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ have a new look that clearly stands out on the back of the smartphone. I’m sure it looks the same. The S21 series has a new design she calls Contour Cut Camera Design, which merges with the metal frame to give it a fashionable, chic and bold look. Like every year, the Galaxy S21 series also gets a new color palette: Phantom Pink, Phantom White and Phantom Grey for the S21, Phantom Purple, Phantom Black and Silver for the S21+.
The best part: The back of every S21, regardless of model, has the matte finish we saw on the Note20 and S20 Fan Edition last year.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 features a dynamic AMOLED 2X FHD + 6.2-inch display with 120 Hz refresh rate. In addition, the phone’s display has an automatic blue backlight based on artificial intelligence to enable more comfortable use throughout the day. The Samsung Galaxy S21+ features a 6.7-inch AMOLED 2X FHD+ dynamic display with 120Hz refresh rate. Automatic AI-based blue light control is also standard here, so you don’t have to worry.
What is customary?
Samsung Galaxy S21Camera
As for the camera, the S21 and S21+ get the same treatment: a triple camera on the back, consisting of :
- Ultra-wide 12 megapixel fixed focus, 120-degree viewing angle with f/2.2 aperture.
- OIS 12MP dual-pixel wide-angle camera with an aperture of f/1.8
- 64MP 3x OIS camera with aperture of f/2.0
On the front is a 10 megapixel dual-pixel camera with an aperture of f/2.2 each.
Like last year, the phone is 8K video capable and also does 8K video where users can take high resolution photos. Super stable recording allows you to record video at an advanced speed of 60 frames per second, just as if it were shot on a combat camera. There’s another feature called Director’s View that gives the end user more control over the recording while doing things to get better shots – you can do Vlogger View, Live Thumbnails, etc.
Pairing with Buds Pro offers the added benefit of multi-MIC recording, i.e. simultaneous recording with the telephone and Buds Pro. Single shot shooting has been enhanced with 5X Artificial Intelligence processing, improved portrait mode for studio-style portraits, etc. If you accidentally use the zoom camera, there is now a zoom lock – it’s time.
In terms of specs, the S21 and S21+ will get a new 5nm processor – but the choice of processor will vary depending on the region you’re in. Therefore, the phone is powered by the latest Exynos or Snapdragon 888. As for the battery, the S21 has the same capacity of 4000 mAh while the S21+ has been increased to 4800 mAh. The fingerprint hidden under the glass is now 1.7 times larger and offers better authentication compared to previous generations.
Here’s the TL;DR of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series compared to the Ultra.
